August 18, 2023  |  by Matthew Grage

Chateau Speedway fans and drivers have been patiently waiting to get some racing in at The Track that’s been thrilling fans since 1956. Friday Night that patience finally paid off. With personal issues preventing the track from opening on its scheduled date in May the track had sat idle until last week. That night was cut short however just four heat races into the night before Mother Nature over watered The Track. With clear skies and no chance of rain in the forecast fans and drivers filled up the grounds at Lansing for a much needed night of racing.

Highlighting the night was a pair of caution free feature events. Skjeveland Sanitation USRA Stock Cars went caution free with Blake Adams of McIntire Iowa taking home top honors as he out ran Darin Toot of Albert Lea for the win and an extra $100 from Borderline Pest Control. Adams also had a heat win on the night with Travis Shipman of Mason City Iowa also staking a heat win.

Manke’s Outdoor Equipment Chateau Hornets ran caution free with three different drivers swapping the lead during the race. Mike Chadderdon of Faribault ended up taking the win over early leader Bailey Wolff of Janesville. David Balik of Fort Atkinson Iowa took the classes lone heat win.

The Tracks new class this year, Power 96 USRA Hobby Stocks were lead in there first night out by Brady Krohnberg who scored wins in his heat as well as the feature. After starting near the front in his heat he had to work from row five in the feature to get the win. Also taking a heat win on the night was Greg Lammers of Owatonna.

Kevin Johnson of Adams out dueled Scott Demmer of Ellendale for top honors in the Double M Transport USRA B Mods. Demmer lead the first couple laps before Johnson took over the lead on lap five and lead the rest of the way. Gage Motl of Owatonna, Spenser Stock of Racine, and Jessie Antiporek of Dexter took the classes three heat wins.

It was a bottle of brothers in the Hanson Tire WISSOTA Midwest Modified Feature as Kadden Kath of Ellendale held off Kobie Kath of Owatonna for top honors. Christopher Deno of Kasson and Greg Pfeifer Jr of Austin grabbed the classes heat wins.

Joe Ludeman of Grand Meadow held off constant pressure from Steve Wetzstein of West Concord to claim the French’s Repair USRA A Mod feature as he lead flag to flag for the win. Joe took home a heat win as well giving him a sweep on the night, The classes other heat win went to Ryan Wetzstein of West Concord.
