You’ll want to plan your Memorial Day Weekend around two great nights of racing action at Chateau Speedway.
On Friday Night the IMCA Stock Cars make their return to Lansing for the first time since 2013. The Inaugural “Toot‘s Trucking IMCA Shootout” will feature $1000 to win and $75 to start in their big Feature at the end of the night. The Stock Cars will be joined on the night by most of the regular classes who will be running for Track Points towards their Season Championships.
The USRA B Mods, WISSOTA Midwest Mods, WISSOTA Street Stocks and WISSOTA Pure Stocks will run on Friday Night all will all be running for Track Points. The WISSOTA Hornets will not run on Friday Night but will be a part of the Memorial on Sunday Night. The IMCA Cars will be running for their National Points.
First Green Flag of the night will fly at 7:15. Hot laps will be at 6:30 with Draw Cutoff at 6:45. Pit and Grandstand Pricing will remain the same for the night.
Than on Sunday Night it’s the Inaugural “Spirit of 83 Memorial”. The event will be a continuation of the Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial which has run since 1998, the year after Mike passed away after winning the final Feature of his career at his home track. The renaming of the event is to include all those drivers, pit crew members and fans who shared Mike’s Spirit/or Passion for Chateau who we have lost over the years. He was one of the most dedicated of all drivers to Lansing and often referred to his race nights at The Track as “Going out to Heaven".
Sunday Nights "A Mod" Memorial Feature will carry an increased purse with the winner taking home a minimum of $1600 and one of the most beautiful trophy’s you may ever see. These days it seems like the Trophy’s need to be six feet tall or more but this one stands only about one foot tall. It’s made of glass and weighs over five lbs. Two Checkered Flags and an image of Mike’s car etched into the glass make it one of the more Spectacular Trophy’s you’ll see. Sunday Nights Race time for the “Spirit of 83” Memorial will be 6:00.
Hot laps will be at 5:15 with Draw Cutoff at 5:30. Grandstand Pricing for the night will be $15 for Adults with kids pricing remaining the same. General Pit Passes will be $30. USRA A Mod Entry Fees will be $60 which will include there pit pass, USRA B Mod and WISSSOTA Midwest Modifieids will have a $50 Entry Fee which includes car and driver, WISSOTA Street Stock Entry Fee will be $40 which includes car and driver.
WISSOTA Hornets and KEVKO Outlaw Mini Mods will have no extra entry fee, just the $30 Pit Pass. Pure Stocks will not be running on the Memorial this year. Whereas drivers will not be competing for Track Points they will still be competing for National Points in their respective class’s on Sunday Night.
Two Inaugural Stock Car Racing events will make this Memorial Day Weekend Thrilling.
